This site is my birthday present for Max who is going to leave our house for university next year. I am sure he will miss my cooking so I decided to share some recipes with him online to make his life a bit easier. Max, remember, you are always welcome to come home for dinner!
Some recipes you can find online or in glossy magazines might scare young beginners away. I am going to focus on healthy but easy to cook meals skipping some steps when possible (professional cooks, please, look away).
I imagine that the cost might be an issue for many students so I will try to use cheaper options for ingredients. For each recipe I am going to add an average cost of all ingredients in your shopping basket and a price per portion. Note that all the costs are taken from a pricy London supermarket. You can get a better deal if you shop locally. You will always have some products left so plan wisely how to use leftovers.
My goal is to record for one year all meals Max likes to create a personalised online recipe book he can refer to when he misses home.

The recipes in here are terrific. One tip that has served me through life…learn how to make a proper omelette. It’ll come in handy.
