Tuiles by @recipesformax
“Tuiles” are my favourite French biscuits. They look very sophisticated but are actually easy to make.
You need
- Large baking tray
- Electric mixer
- 160g caster sugar
- 160g flour
- 4 egg whites
- 120g melted butter
- 1 tsp vanila extract
- almond flakes (optional)
- Whisk together the sugar and egg whites until well combined.
- Keep whisking adding the butter first then the flour and vanilla.
- The mixture should be smooth but not foamy.
- Preheat the oven to 150°C.
- Spoon a small amount of batter on the baking sheet. Spread it evenly into a circle and sprinkle with almond flakes.
- Bake until the tuiles are golden brown (about 10 minutes).
