Tuiles” are my favourite French biscuits. They look very sophisticated but are actually easy to make.

You need

  • Large baking tray
  • Electric mixer

ingr Ingredients

  • 160g caster sugar
  • 160g flour
  • 4 egg whites
  • 120g melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanila extract
  • almond flakes (optional)

methodStep by step

  • Whisk together the sugar and egg whites until well combined.
  • Keep whisking adding the butter first then the flour and vanilla.
  • The mixture should be smooth but not foamy.
  • Preheat the oven to 150°C.
  • Spoon a small amount of batter on the baking sheet. Spread it evenly into a circle and sprinkle with almond flakes.
  • Bake until the tuiles are golden brown (about 10 minutes).

  • Melt the butter for 2 min 70C speed 2.
  • Add the sugar and flour, mix for 30s speed 4.
  • Add the whites one by one (~1m speed 6).
  • Preheat the oven to 150°C.
  • Spoon a small amount of batter on the baking sheet. Spread it evenly into a circle and sprinkle with almond flakes.
  • Bake until the tuiles are golden brown (about 10 minutes).
