This is our favourite dip. All our friends ask for this recipe when they try it at our parties. So here we go…
You need
- Food processor;
- 140g pack smoked mackerel ;
- 1 small red onion;
- handful coriander;
- 250g pack ricotta;
- 2 tbsp lemon juice;
- black pepper to taste;
- Peel the skin off the fish and discard.
- Put the fish in a food processor, breaking it up slightly. Add all other ingredients and whiz for 20-30 seconds until the mixture is smooth.
- 280g pack smocked mackerel – £2.79
- 1kg red onion – £1.00
- 250g ricotta- £1.35
- 28g coriander – £0.95
- 1 lemon – £0.35
- Total basket £6.44 | Cost of ingredients £3.14




How about using smoked cod instead of smoked mackerel?

I have never used cod for this pate but I am sure it will taste nice.

Yeah. With added herbs rub, the taste of the fish would be doubled 😀
